The World and Me

Young leaders and world historical preservation meet.

Welcome

The World and Me is a youth organization helping students grow as neighbors, learners, and citizens. We connect young people with community, local history, and civic life in and around Madison.

What we do

Students work together in small groups to explore local history, learn from community members, and take part in hands-on service and preservation projects. Each student group contributes to the larger work of The World and Me by researching historical places, people, and stories, discussing what they discover, and helping share that history with others. Through mentor hours and community projects, students practice listening, collaboration, responsibility, and thoughtful historical inquiry while seeing how their work can help preserve and strengthen their neighborhood.
